LG 42LH5000- 200Hz 42 inch LCD TV

The 42LH5000 has a smart and edgy design which allows it to fit easily in almost any living room. When it comes to moving the TV to set it at different angles, one can easily rotate it 20 degrees left or right, but the axis does not allow any up down movement.
This new LCD TV launched by LG is environment friendly. Apart from the fact that this TV consumes only 210W on daily viewing basis, there is also a physical on-off switch which has a handy easy to reach dimmable display. It even has the ability to turn off the display if one is not in the room or is busy elsewhere.
The built-in free view tuner works well when it comes to viewing movies and documentaries, but is unable to match up when it comes to news, sports, action movies or anything with fast paced graphics. But this is resolved by plugging in an external HD source. The TV has high definition picture clarity which produces sharp and crisp images with their vibrant hues apart from applying any scene-specific image process. The contrast is almost same for all the applications and only muted scenes suffer from lack of definition.
A sensor is present in front of the screen which matches the lighting system of the television to that of the ambience of the room. A sensor on the front will adjust the brightness of the display to match ambience of the room. A very neatly placed UI on the menu allows one to turn off this feature in case the viewer is bothered by too many adjustments.
One of the most important features of the 42LH5000’s is its USB port wherein one can watch movies, display pictures by plugging in a portable hard drive or flash memory stick regardless of any worries about the codec support.
The sound is good with the stereo speakers. It gives more than enough volume there is no audio-out available and hence the need for a headphone socket in case one wants to plug into a stereo. The LG 42LH5000 is available at Currys for £899.
Toshiba Regza 26 AV 615 DB 26 inch LCD TV

Priced at £ 353 and five pence at the times of recession, Toshiba’s 26 AV 615 DB is not positioned in the market as a TV with a price that can be bargained for. Starting with the design, the black bezel is now much glossier and the structural design boasts of more robustness.
The bezel has a distinctive design with a fetching angled in wedge effect that has a small Toshiba logo emblazoned across the bottom half. This logo does not shine like the one on the Toshiba’s AV 635 and other higher models, but still the set is one the most attractive 26 inch models in the town.
The 26 AV 615 DB’s connections perform better than what was expected, There are three HDMIs one on the side and the other two on the rear. The D-SUB PC port, allows one to double the screen as a computer monitor. But the USB ports only support the Service updates. The auto tuning feature does not start when the TV is switched and being manual it has to be tuned later one. This is one drawback which the 26 AV 615 DB faces. This can be possibly the only reason why any consumer might not like the sleek and elegant look of the instrument which is being popularized by Toshiba as a piece of art in it.
There is a long list of features in neatly arranged small onscreen menus. There are some useful picture presets which includes the Cinema Mode. The digital noise reduction processing is optional. All this is combined with the multi-level colour transient improvement (CTI) and a dedicated flesh tone adjustment provides an excellent audio environment and one of a kind experience to the user. Adaptive Luma Control and the option to switch the TV’s Active Backlight on or off is another attractive feature in the television set which is alluring the customers.
